Greg Matos, Psy.D., ABPP
Dr. Greg Matos is a nationally recognized expert in couple psychology, specializing in Gottman-Method Couples Therapy. He was trained as a military psychologist by the U.S. Navy and worked with service members as a Lieutenant Commander on active duty and in the reserves.
Greg directed the Boston Vet Center, leading an interdisciplinary mental health team caring for veterans and their families. In 2020, he became board-certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) in Couple and Family Psychology. He recently completed a term on the board of the American Academy of Couple and Family Psychology.
In November 2021, Greg founded the educational charity A Better Love Project, Inc. which shares relationship science with an audience of over 45,000 online and on a weekly show A Better Love with Dr. Greg. The show helps people start long-term relationships in healthy, sustainable ways.
Dr. Greg is a Staff Psychologist at UCLA’s Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS). He offers a range of therapy services at UCLA, including the Date Better and Love Better skills groups.
He is working on his second book addressing modern relationship trends and the skills necessary to love in fierce, healthy ways.
