Relationship Assessment
Step 1
Dr. Greg’s approach is focused on 3-months of intensive couple’s therapy. A quick phone consultation will help us determine if you’re a good fit or would benefit from a longer-term therapist.
Step 2
New clients will schedule their initial joint session and complete a Relationship Checkup online. These objective measures are completed online prior to your first session. This data gets sent directly to Dr. Greg for interpretation (when both partners finish completing it). There is a $39 fee that is paid directly to the Gottman Institute.
Step 3
Complete new client forms and submit them prior to your first appointment. All care is provided via a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. In-person therapy may be an option in 2023.
Be ready for 4-sessions of a comprehensive evaluation. This includes:
Session 1: Joint session. You and your partner will meet Dr. Greg for the first time and share what your relationship goals are with him. You’ll also discuss a current issue with each other and reflect on the story of your relationship.
Session 2 + 3: Individual sessions. Each of you will attend your own 50-minute session with Dr. Greg to share your perspective as well as receive an evaluation for mental health concerns, current stressors, etc.
Session 4: Feedback session. You’ll return for the 4th session and receive comprehensive feedback from the assessment. You’ll have a clear sense of what you could start to do better and an outline of a plan to get there. Remember, our goals will set on the next 3-months.
Payment will be accepted through the online platform after your session is complete.
Step 4
Actively engage in weekly therapy + daily/weekly commitment to therapy work between sessions (12-sessions)
Step 5
Continue the work after therapy with access to all the tools you’ll learn in treatment. This is the maintenance phase, where you integrate all your new skills in daily life.
