Latino Mental Health Program Immersion – Guayaquil, Ecuador
Now in my 4th year of doctoral training, I have consulted with children, adolescents, families, college students, and Veterans. I’ve also traveled to Guayaquil, Ecuador with MSPP’s Latino Mental Health Program to provide clinical assistance to organizations in great need of psychologists. My clinical and research interests are focused on veterans’ mental health. These interests include challenges such as post-traumatic stress and family reintegration.
Therapeutic Approach
My core approach to therapy involves raising awareness of personal strengths and empowering individuals to realize their inherent potential. I view therapeutic consultation as a collaborative pursuit where my client is the central and driving force. I believe every personal challenge is embedded in a social context including family and community dynamics. Ultimately, my clients know themselves best and I trust in their capacities to use therapy as they see most helpful.
